As the saying goes, silence is golden, and whilst you won’t quite get this from the Briggs and Stratton, this generator is not far off! One of the most impressive features of this machine is its ability to provide you with power all whilst operating at a 59dB volume. This means that rather than shout over the generator as you have to do with so many others, you will be able to have a normal conversation whilst it is running! Thanks to its less than 3% production of harmonic distortion, this generator is also able to power even your most delicate electronics such as laptops and televisions.
Size, weight, and more
Whilst they are not the most powerful generators available today, the good thing about inverters is the fact that they are very small and easy to carry around and the same can be said about the Briggs and Stratton. It measures a very compact 19.9 x 14.4 x 22.4 inches and weighs almost 55 pounds, so when you add the carry handle into the mix you will have no problem moving this device from one place to the next.
The most positive elements of this generator
One of the things that people go most crazy about regarding this machine is the amount of power it can put out relative to its size. By putting out 2,200 watts, this little generator competes with some of the bigger boys in its price bracket and it does so incredibly well. Whilst there may be others out there that can provide you with more power, there are very few that can do so as quietly as this machine does, and being able to hear yourself speak when a generator is running is something well worth mentioning!
Any points that are not as good?
There are not too many negative things being said about this machine, but the one that is worth mentioning is its limited running time.1 gallon of fuel can provide you with up to 8 hours of energy, but this is only when the generator is running at a 25% load. Whilst this may be ok for people who simply want to power a television or a laptop, for anyone who is looking to power anything more heavy duty this may not be the best machine to purchase.
Wrap everything up for me!
If silence is key for your generator needs, then this is as close as you are going to get to that! This is the best portable inverter generator that is available today and the abundance of features that it comes with, including the aforementioned lack of noise, shows just that. It can help provide you with all of the power you need for your smaller devices, just don’t expect it to power your whole RV!
Runner-Up #1 – Atima SD1000i Inverter Generator
It plays host to a 4 stroke OHV engine and this means that it is powerful enough to be used for both recreation and work.
It does, however, have a relatively small fuel tank at just 0.69 gallons, and this means that its running time is reduced compared to the norm at 6.5 hours at ¼ load.
It has to be said that this machine is certainly light though at just 33 pounds, so if you want a generator which is easy to transport this is a good place to start.
Runner-Up #2 – Champion 73536i Portable Inverter Generator
By making only 53dB of noise when it is in full flow, this is the perfect generator to take with you when you are camping or in other situations when you will be around other people who you do not wish to disturb.
Even though it is quiet, that is not to say it is not powerful, and the 1,700 running watts and 2,000 starting watts are testaments to this.
Runner-Up #3 – WEN 56200i Portable Inverter Generator
Its 79.7 cc engine can produce 2,000 surge watts and 1,600 running watts, but it can do all this whilst only making the minimum of noise.
It is safe enough to power your sensitive electronic devices like your computer or smartphone, and thanks to its mixture of USB ports and more conventional plug sockets you will be able to power many at once without worrying about anything going wrong!
